| Stochastic Theory mix kits up for grabs! |
[Apr. 10th, 2007|10:04 am] |
I thought it'd be fun to put up some mix kits and see what people do with 'em. There are mix kits up on our site for 5 songs from Opposite Extremes. It's not a contest or anything - just a chance for anyone who feels like it to make a remix. Grab a kit, do a mix, send us the result and we'll probably post a bunch of the mixes later on. If we get some really great ones we may talk to the mixers about using them for compilations and the like. Either way hopefully it'll just be fun. Spread the word!

| New ST CD Out now! |
[Oct. 10th, 2006|03:25 pm] |

Today is the official release date of the new CD! Madisonians can buy it at the west side or State St. Exclusive Co., or B-Side Records on state.
Internetians can buy it at A Different Drum (tho they don't appear to have the link up yet... it's coming tho), Metropolis (tho they're still listing it as pre-order) and Amazon.
Assuming they all get their respective links updated later in the day. And whatnot.
We'll sell CDs directly in person and at shows, but we're not gonna sell them directly from our website. The extra couple of bucks we walk away with isn't worth the hassle of packaging/mailing etc.
However, we will be selling our lovely new T-Shirts via the website, since those of you who can't make it to shows won't have any other way of getting them. Check those out here!
Gave the website a little facelift too.
Spread the word peeps! |

| Out TOMORROW!! |
[Oct. 9th, 2006|03:11 pm] |
STOCHASTIC THEORY 'Opposite Extremes'

CLICK THE COVER IMAGE TO ORDER!!
Opposite Extremes is the second full-length disc from Madison, WI's STOCHASTIC THEORY, blending influences from everywhere from NEW ORDER to MESH to THE POSTAL SERVICE. This is electro-pop with an indie-rock edge, balancing dancefloor appeal with increasingly complex rhythms and arrangements accompanied by project founder Chuck Spencer's introspective lyrics. Featuring 10 new tracks, including a cover of R.E.M.'s classic 'Losing My Religion' and club remixes by Stochastic Theory and Caustic, Opposite Extremes begins where ST's breakout debut 'Soliloquy' left off - exploring themes of isolation, frustration, and uncertainty while picking up the pieces of a broken heart and a broken life. Far beyond the constraints of your typical ''synthpop'', Stochastic Theory is an increasingly original act on the electronic forefront and is steadily building a following thanks to inclusion on high profile live bills including ASSEMBLAGE 23, ICON OF COIL, and STROMKERN.
Out on SONIC MAINLINE DISCS!!
SAMPLES CAN BE FOUND HERE: http://www.stochastictheory.com/samples.php ADD STOCHASTIC THEORY ON MYSPACE: http://www.myspace.com/stochastictheory http://www.sonicmainline.com
Stochastic Theory will be performing at their release party with A Different Drum's SOMEGIRL on October 18th in Madison at INFERNO NIGHTCLUB! |

| The Gothsicles NESferatu in preorder NOW! |
[Aug. 25th, 2006|11:22 am] |
WORLD DOMINATION BEGINS NOW!!! It took 4 friggin' YEARS for The Gothsicles to put a CD out and it'll be worth every second when you pick it up. SPREAD THE WORD!!!
CLICK THE COVER TO PREORDER NOW FROM METROPOLIS!!
After years of playing some of the most talked about goth/industrial live shows in the Midwest (and featured as part of Caustic at this year's BLACK SUN FESTIVAL), The Gothsicles long awaited debut, NESferatu, has arrived to deliver fist-pumping, video-game inspired stompfests that will bring out the geek in everyone and compliment their massive stage shows perfectly. Featuring remixes from BATTERY CAGE, CAUSTIC, STOCHASTIC THEORY and the momentarily-risen-from-the-dead EPSILON MINUS, The Gothsicles brand of oddball EBM throws craze like an entire gaming convention on truckstop speed-- fun, loud, and endlessly entertaining. Also featuring guest vocals from Null Device's Eric Oehler and sometime third member Sega Lugosi (aka Matt Fanale of Caustic), NESferatu is set to rock the house, the dancefloor, and like nine or ten casbahs. NESferatu is set to be unleashed September 2006 on SONIC MAINLINE.

Hey, what up? There's a Sonic Mainline Yahoo! Group now:
http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/sonicmainline/
I know it's kind of silly to advertise a mailing list on a livejournal community, 'cause anything on the mailing list is basically going to be whatever's on this community (at least, news-wise), but with this you can also get occasional offers on free Cialis and refinancing your home and Nigerian princesses and whatnot. |

| Sensuous Enemy- Deadly Sins out now! |
[Aug. 10th, 2006|11:50 am] |
So you say "Just who the hell is SENSUOUS ENEMY?", right? Sensuous Enemy is out of Madison, WI's fertile synth/industrial scene, home of Null Device, Stromkern, Caustic, Stochastic Theory, Endif, and many more, and have a combination of powerful electropop and have been decribed as a mix of Siouxsie Sioux and The Pet Shop Boys, but with a distict sound all their own.
Sensuous Enemy's first EP, the limited CDR DEADLY SINS is a mixture of powerful, dark electropop-- vibrant, sexy, and gorgeous. Sensuous Enemy celebrated the release of Deadly Sins at this year's 3 day REVERENCE FESTIVAL in Madison, and will continue their string of captivating live performances at September's ELECTROPHEST Festival in Cleveland, OH.
Having already shared the stage and held their own with bands from Hungry Lucy to The Cruxshadows to Android Lust, SENSUOUS ENEMY is poised to take the synth and electropop scenes by storm.
Click the CD cover for sample songs and click the PAYPAL button on the website to buy buy buy. You won't regret it.
